Gloria Nimtz Obituary
Gloria attended Concordia Lutheran High School and graduated with the Class of 1954. On June 2, 1956, she married Michael Henry Nimtz at Bethlehem Lutheran Church Fort Wayne, IN. Gloria then worked at Allen County Abstract Company for 2 years. Following that she worked for Camera Service Center for 13 years. Gloria also worked at Cottage flowers for 8 years.
Gloria was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Columbia City and was a former member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne and Prince of Peace, Stroh. Gloria enjoyed fishing with her husband Mike, planting flowers and gardening in addition to her walks with her neighborhood friends, she also enjoyed watching the deer in her backyard from her kitchen window. Gloria was also an avid IU Basketball and Indianapolis Colts fan.
Survivors include her daughters Diane (Gary) Ressler of Pensacola, FL, Cheryl Nimtz of Indianapolis, IN, Jennifer (Miriam Danu) Nimtz of Bellingham, WA; stepdaughter Betty Jean (Jeff) Pennington of McClure, IL; sister-in-law Carrie Macke of Hoagland, IN 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Michael Nimtz, son Steve Nimtz, daughter-in-law Melody Nimtz, step-granddaughter Jennifer Hect; siblings Maxine Remenschneider and Roger Macke.
Friends may call on Friday February 28, 2025, from 5:00-8:00 pm at DeMoney Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.
Funeral services for Gloria will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday March 1, 2025, at Zion Lutheran Church, 101 East North Street, Columbia City, with calling one hour prior to service.
Burial will follow in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
Memorial contributions in memory of Gloria may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne Lutheran Seminary, Worship Anew or Emerald Coast Hospice of Pensacola, FL.
