Gregory A. Parnin

Gregory A. Parnin, 77, of Columbia City, Indiana passed away peacefully on Friday, May 30, 2025, surrounded by family. A beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Greg will always be remembered for his big heart and quick wit.
Born December 19, 1947, in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late Arthur and Edith (Naylor) Parnin. Greg graduated from New Haven High School and obtained his bachelor's degree from Indiana University in Fort Wayne after which he began working at General Electric. It was there that Greg met the love of his life, Sheila McCague, whom he married on June 29, 1974. He continued his accounting career with Franklin Electric, Whitley Products, finally retiring from Schafer Gear Works in 2012.
In his down time, Greg was an avid reader, loved to travel out west, and enjoyed woodworking. Family was a large part of his life.
Greg is survived by his wife, Sheila Parnin: son, David Parnin, daughter, Kelly (Dave) Stahl; grandchildren, NaTaia Parnin, Jacob Stahl, and BlaiJah Parnin; sister, Deb (Charlie) Stratton; sister-in-law, Jean Parnin; and several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents Greg is preceded in death by his brother, Steve Parnin.
