Luke Harkenrider Obituary

Luke A. Harkenrider, 65, of New Haven passed away Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Parkview Regional Medical Center. He was born in Fort Wayne to Jack and Florence Harkenrider. Growing up Luke enjoyed playing hockey, playing darts, and fishing with his family and friends. In later years Luke enjoyed going to his grandkids' sporting events, gardening, playing with poker buddies, cookouts, and taking mini family trips. He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church, where he attended on Saturdays. Luke retired down to part time this year to spend more time with his family and grandchildren and was well loved by his coworkers at Motion Industries, who also became some of his best friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years; Tamara "Tammy" Harkenrider, daughter; Lindsey (Michael) Kelley, Grandchildren; Jocelyn, Sloan, and Jaxon Kelley, Brothers; Thomas (Janet) Harkenrider, and Neil (Sheila) Harkenrider. Luke was preceded in death by his father (Jack), his mother (Florence), and his brother (William). Mass of Christian Resurrection will be 11am Saturday, July 12, 2025 at St. Peters Catholic Church, 518 E. Dewald Street, with calling 1 hour prior to Mass. Entombment will take place in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne IN. Memorials may be made in Luke's honor to St. Peters Catholic Church or Humane Fort Wayne.
