Melvin Brown Obituary

Melvin Douglas Brown, 68, of Auburn, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 28, 2025, at Betz Nursing Home in Auburn. He was born on May 15, 1957, in Buffalo, New York, to George Gilbert and Florence Ida (Barton) Brown. Melvin was a member of Auburn Kiwanis Club, Kiwanis Club of 101 Lakes in Angola and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #566 of Auburn. He found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially spending time with his beloved dogs and taking peaceful drives. Surviving are two brothers and a sister-in-law, George E. Brown, of Fort Wayne and Leroy A. and Linda J. Brown, of Moyock, North Carolina; two nephews, Scott A. (Pamela) Brown and Robert M. (Christy Ambrose) Brown; and two great-nephews, Jeremiah S. Brown and William C. Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister and brother-in-law, Lanie M. and David Coburn. There will be no services taking place at this time. Memorial donations may be made to Anew Hospice, 7833 W. Jefferson Blvd., Fort Wayne, IN 46804 or Betz Nursing Home, 116 Betz Road, Auburn, IN 46706.
