Sharon Dollarhite Obituary
Sharon Roberta Dollarhite, age 83, of Columbia City, IN, passed away at 8:56 am on Sunday August 31, 2025, at her residence. Born on March 8, 1942, in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter Robert and Irene (Bishop) Carr.
Sharon attended Central Catholic High School, Fort Wayne and graduated with the Class of 1960. On September 15, 1962, she married David Lee Dollarhite at Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Fort Wayne. They moved to Stable Acres in 1972, then later to Pike Lake in Warsaw, before returning to Columbia City.
Sharon was a homemaker, and also worked for several years at General Electric, Fort Wayne and Pro Fed Credit Union, Columbia City. She was member of St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church. Sharon enjoyed cooking, traveling, and being a devoted wife and mother.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, David Dollarhite of Columbia City; children Diana (Jeff) Castleberry of Fort Wayne, Kathy (John) Fribley of Auburn, and Steve Dollarhite of Churubusco; siblings Mike (Julie) Carr, Pat (Patricia) Carr, and Robbie Carr, all of Fort Wayne, and Nick Carr of LaOtto.
She was preceded in death by her parents, infant children Mary and Steven Thomas, and sister Jean Carr.
Friends may call on Wednesday September 3, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 pm at DeMoney Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, with a reciting of the rosary held at 3:30 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Sharon will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday September 4, 2025, at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, 315 South Line Street, Columbia City, with calling one hour prior.
Burial will follow in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
Memorial contributions in memory of Sharon may be made to St. Paul of the Cross Food Bank or Alzheimer's Research.
