Alexander Medrano Leon

Alexander Leon went home to the Lord on April 30, 2025. Born in Los Angeles, California in 1936, Alex grew up in Van Nuys and attended St. Elizabeth Parochial School and Queen of Angels Prep. Preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Alex is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Frances; their two children, Alexis and Rebecca, of Pennsylvania and California respectively; his brothers Sal (Sarah) and Richard (Sylvia), of California; and various nieces and nephews. A teacher and Vietnam-era U.S. Army Signal Corps veteran, Alex received a master's degree from the University of Southern California and earned teaching credentials from UCLA for the State of California. He taught classes at all levels, conducted teacher training workshops, directed and developed curriculum for various language programs, and worked within the oil and defense industries teaching English to Arab personnel before retiring to nature, music, and books. According to his wishes, Alex was cremated, his ashes to be scattered over the Pacific Ocean. His family requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the educational scholarship established in his name with the Latino Leadership Alliance of the Lehigh Valley online at https://hclv.networkforgood.com/projects/230468-everyday-giving.
