Alice Speck Obituary

Alice M. Speck, 98, of Salisbury Township, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at the Phoebe Home in Allentown. She was the wife of the late William G. Speck, Jr., who died in 1985. Born in Naugatuck, Connecticut, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Alice (Liwski) Congdon. Alice was a graduate of Fountain Hill High School. She enjoyed working as a seamstress for many years at various local factories, including Schobel Brothers. Alice was a member of West Side Moravian Church, where she was also a member of the King's Daughters. She liked to bake, care for her family and volunteer at the voting polls. Alice also enjoyed her time as a docent at the Moravian Museum and a Crossing Guard for Salisbury Elementary School on Salisbury Road. Survivors: Daughter, Sandra L. Kuder and her husband Barry of Lower Macungie Township; son, Christopher W. Speck of Allentown; 6 grandsons, W. Adam Kuder (Rori), David Kuder (Jennifer), Brad Kuder (Tara), Brian Kuder (Christal), Christopher W. Speck, Jr. (Barb) and Matthew Speck (Michelle); 9 great-grandchildren. Alice was also preceded in death by sisters Jeanne Rysedorph and Phyllis Millington. Services: A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Bethlehem Memorial Park Cemetery, 1851 Linden Street, Bethlehem. Arrangements are entrusted to the K.V. Knopp Funeral Home, Allentown. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, may be made in memory of Alice to West Side Moravian Church, 402 Third Avenue, Bethlehem, PA 18018.
