Allan Davies Obituary

Allan F. Davies, 78, of Wescosville, passed away peacefully into the presence of the Lord on Friday morning, October 17, 2025 in his home. He was born in Santa Monica, CA and raised in West Los Angeles. Allan attended University High School where he developed a love for horticulture, participated on the track team and enjoyed surfing. He then attended and received degrees from the University of Southern California and Southwestern Law School. Allan married his college sweetheart, Suzanne (Vleerick) Davies and made their home in Downey, CA. He began working for Dun & Bradstreet as a reporter of commercial credit information throughout Southern California. They had three children before his job transfer to Pennsylvania in 1984 to forge the development of Dun & Bradstreet's bulk processing of public record data. Allan retired from Dun & Bradstreet in 2005 as Vice President to Public Data Sourcing. Allan had a long and distinguished career at D&B, where he championed new ways to collect data with modern technology. He was a subject matter expert respected throughout the company for his knowledge and passion in his areas of expertise. Allan was a mentor to many, and he was always willing to cheerfully share his knowledge and expertise with his fellow associates and customers. Allan had a working relationship with the Secretaries of State of all 50 states. His deep knowledge of the company and law degree allowed him to serve as an expert witness for Dun & Bradstreet throughout the country. Allan received an award from FBI Director William Sessions in 1992 for "Exceptional Service in the Public Interest." While at Dun & Bradstreet he was an active member of the International Association of Corporate Administers and the National Association of Secretaries of State. Allan served as Boy Scout Leader of Troop 131 making lasting memories with his troop hiking in Pennsylvania, caving in West Virginia and camping at Camp Minsi. He was also a long-time member of the Lehigh County Council of Churches' investment committee and additionally served on the Commission of Ministerial Leadership for ABCOPAD. As a long-time active member of Calvary Baptist Church of Allentown, Allan served as Chairman of Deacons, Chairman of Trustees, Church Moderator, and member of the Pastoral Search Committee. Allan taught adult Sunday School and participated in small group studies. His outgoing personality made him an excellent church greeter and usher for over 30 years. He was a friend to everyone. Allan loved working in his yard, playing golf and chess. He enjoyed reading anything about history and was a proponent of lifelong learning. Allan delighted in taking cruises with friends and driving across the USA.
