Arthur Weiler Jr. Obituary
Arthur was the loving husband of Marie (Dooley) Weiler. They celebrated their 57th Wedding Anniversary on June 8th.
He was born in Summit, NJ on October 12, 1944, son of the late Arthur John Weiler Sr. and Helen (Melzer) Weiler.
Arthur served our country with dedication and courage in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and received the National Defense Service Medal.
Arthur graduated from Governor Livingston Regional High School in New Jersey. He received his bachelors' degree in Agricultural science from Rutgers University in New Jersey. He continued his education and received his master's degree in education from Rutgers University in New Jersey.
Arthur worked as a Science Teacher for the Park Middle School in Scotch Plains, NJ for over 25 years, until retiring. After his retirement, Arthur traveled six days a week to clear the wooded lot he and his wife purchased in Polk Township. His dream was to build a new home; with his determination and hard work his dream came true. He enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also owned and operated Art Weiler Rods, Inc. in Kunkletown, PA and was a skilled bamboo fly rod maker.
We have been blessed with the presence of Arthur in our lives. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife: Marie (Dooley) Weiler of Kunkletown, PA, his children: Molly Whitmire and husband Jamie of Nazareth, PA, Arthur J. Weiler III and partner Wendy Trimmer of Bloomsbury, NJ and Peter C. Weiler of Kunkletown, PA.
He was the loving grandfather to Kaitlyn N. Napolitan and husband Chris, James R. Whitmire, Sarah M. Whitmire (deceased), Kyleigh J. Whitmire and great grandfather to: Rowan M. Napolitan.
Arthur is also survived by two siblings: James Weiler and wife Debbie of Millington, NJ and Patricia "Tisha" Ammon and husband John of Macungie, PA.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Sarah Whitmire and a brother: Michael Weiler.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made In Loving Memory of Arthur John Weiler Jr. to the American Cancer Society, Watch4Wegeners.org, or the American Diabetes Association.
Gower Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 1426 Route 209, Gilbert, PA is entrusted with his arrangements.

In 1995, by some divine intervention, I met Art Weiler. We shared a common interest in bamboo rodmaking, and he became my mentor by teaching me his method of building fine cane fly rods. After 8 months, I crafted a number of rods under his tutelage. But more importantly, I found a great and kind friend in Art! He was a terrific teacher, knowledgeable sportsman, and devoted family man. Art leaves behind a reputation as a legendary rodmaker. I will be forever grateful for his friendship and the wonderful memories at his workbench.

"A Vietnam Veteran has passed away today." Arthur, you are now relieved from your watch. A job well done fellow navy Vietnam Veteran. We all are grateful for your stepping up to the plate when your country needed you the most. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom. The final volley has sounded and taps is about to begin, ending a successful career as a nation´s defender. Smooth sailing shipmate.
