Barbara Nester Obituary

Barbara Jean (Moyer) Nester, 86, wife of the late Randall J. Nester, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at her home in Boyertown. Born in Pottstown, she was the daughter of the late Eli and Clara (Haines) Moyer. Barbara was a very independent, strong willed, free spirit. Her life mantra was "Live Free or Die". She was known as a straight shooter and you never had to guess what she was thinking. Barbara was extremely generous to her local community. She taught her children what it was like to be selfless and always trying to help others anyway she could. Barbara contributed to a multitude of local community organizations, especially the Gilbertsville YMCA and the Boyertown Multiservice Center. She also loved dogs and always tried to find the good in people. Surviving are her daughters Leslie Valentino, Susan Hoffmaster, Sharon Tallon, and Lori Nester; sister Sheryl Whalen; and her four grandchildren. She is predeceased by her sisters Betty and Nancy. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 12:00PM at Catagnus Funeral Home (1020 E. Philadelphia Ave., Gilbertsville, PA 19525). Burial will follow at Fairview cemetery. A viewing will also be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 10:00AM-12:00PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Montgomery County SPCA (https://montgomerycountyspca.org/) in Barbara's name.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Even though I had to find out 8 days on Facebook.
My thoughts are with you 4girls.
Your Mom would tell you not to grieve to long get on with your life not always so easy.
I remember going to the Halloween parades every year with your Mom and Dad and you kids then back to your parents for hot chocolate they were the good old days.

So very nice to learn of my Aunt Barbara's passing 6 days ago from my sister seeing a FB post from a cousin at 3am the AFTER the service. Then also seeing sympathies from family that doesnt live in PA! My house phone is still the same as my parents. Not hard to contact people these days especially with social media. Just shows a lot about character. Hope it was a nice service.
