Barbara J. Supeck

Barbara J. (Schaffer) Supeck, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, at age 86, surrounded by her loving family. Born April 2, 1939, in Fountain Hill, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Harriet (Clark) Schaffer.
Barbara graduated from Liberty High School in 1957 and spent many years working as a waitress at beloved local spots like Minsi Trail Inn, The Maples, and Collins Restaurants. Her warm smile and friendly demeanor made her a favorite among regulars, brightening the days of all who had the pleasure of crossing her path.
As a longtime and devoted member of First Presbyterian Church in Bethlehem, Barbara found comfort and community in her faith. She treasured simple joys like spending sunny afternoons at the beach and unwinding by her backyard pool, always surrounded by family and close friends. Her kindness and grace were evident in everything she did, and her joyful spirit had a way of touching everyone she met, leaving a legacy of warmth and love that will be remembered by all who knew her.
She was the loving wife of the late James P. Supeck and a loving mother to Sheri Helfrich (Alfred), James Supeck, and Lisa Zsilavecz (Steve). Barbara adored her grandchildren: Caroline Helfrich, Veronica Helfrich (Luke Werner); Staci Zsilavecz Beltrami (Anthony); Lauren Zsilavecz (Mason Angstadt); JT Supeck (Sarah); and Starly Espinal (Ricardo). She is also survived by her sisters, Pat Tocci and Sandy Stellato (Lou). She was preceded in death by her son Wayne S. Supeck, and brother, William R. Schaffer.
Services: A Funeral Service will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, June 13, 2025, at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street Bethlehem, PA 18018 where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10 A.M until time of the service.
