Barry D. Bortz

Barry D. Bortz, 75, of Macungie, passed away on May 28, 2025 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp. He was the devoted husband of the late Mildred P. "Milly" Bortz. Barry was an accountant at Buckeye Partners, Trexlertown, for many years until retiring. Born in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Donald and Anna (Scibek) Bortz. He obtained his master's degree from Lehigh University, Bethlehem. Barry was a member of St. Anne's Episcopal Church, Trexlertown. Barry was a fine athlete. He loved to golf and bowl. Occasionally, he could be coerced to play a hand of poker. Barry is survived by his son, Barry William "Will" Bortz of Macungie, his sister: Jane D. Fetter (Dutch) of Laureldale, PA, his nephew Christopher Fetter of Temple, PA. his sister-in-law, Mary Colhoun (Mike) of Sun Valley, ID, his brother-in-law, Thomas M. Skelly of Milwaukee, WI, nephew Dr. Christopher Skelly of Chicago and several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Bortz and a sister-in-law, Patricia F. Skelly. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 2, 2025 at 10:30 A.M. in the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, 16th and Hamilton Sts. Allentown. A calling hour will be held on Monday, from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. in the funeral home.
