Bertha B. Pope

Bertha B. Pope, 89, of Lower Macungie Township, passed away peacefully at home on January 8, 2025. Born in Neptune, NJ, she was the daughter of Clancy and Regina (Curchin) Boynton. Known to family and friends as "Bert", she lived a life full of love and creativity.
As a young woman, she was selected for her grace and poise to join Delta Airlines as a stewardess where she began a career traveling the skies, making lifelong memories. After marrying and starting a family, she dedicated herself to her role as a wife and mother. While she embraced the traditional responsibilities of homemaking, Bert's artistic spirit was evident in everything she did. She had impeccable taste, personally transforming every home they lived in – painting, wallpapering, and hanging draperies to create beautiful spaces. One of Bert's greatest passions was gardening. She enjoyed summer days outdoors tending to her flowers, plants, and yard. The beauty she cultivated in her garden reflected the love and attention to detail that she gave to her home.
Bert was also remarkably talented at needlepoint and knitting, crafting extraordinary gifts that became treasured heirlooms. From intricate Christmas stockings to cozy afghans, sweaters, and baby gifts, her craftsmanship was a true expression of the love she had for those in her life.
She also cared for the many animals that became part of the family, with a special place in her heart for her beloved Italian Greyhound, Turbo. Originally intended for a weekend stay by her son, Turbo quickly became a permanent member of the family – a testament to their bond.
Though she has left this world, the love and warmth that she shared with all who knew her will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Francis Pope Sr. and her daughter Regina (Pope) LeVan. Bert is survived by her son, Francis Pope Jr.; daughter, Sarah (Pope) Murphy and her husband, James; brother, Clancy Boynton; and two grandsons.
In keeping with her wishes, the family held a private memorial service and celebration of her life. Arrangements by Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, Allentown.
