Bette L. Walker, 78, of Moore Twp., passed away peacefully while surrounded by her loving family on Monday, August 25, 2025 at Country Meadows Nursing & Rehab Center - Bethlehem Twp. She was the beloved wife of Ray Walker to whom she was married to for 53 years. Born in Allentown, Bette was a daughter of the late Raymond and Lorraine Knerr (Ziegler).
Bette's career spanned various grocery stores (Aharts - Bath, ACME - Whitehall & Tilghman Square) in the area, where she worked as a cashier, offering her friendly smile and kind words to customers daily. Her dedication and hard work were evident as she also spent time in the office of Gebhardts Billiards & Bowling.
A devoted member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church - Moore Twp., Bette found solace and joy in her faith. She was an active participant in the church choir and was known for her beautiful singing voice, which brought comfort and inspiration to those around her. Bette also enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and was an enthusiastic member of the Bath Community Chorus, where she fostered friendships through her love of music. Her participation in various bowling leagues illustrated her vibrant spirit, as she cherished the camaraderie and competition they offered.
In addtion to her husband, she will be dearly missed by her children: Charlie Walker and June Walker both of Allentown; . Bette was predeceased by a daughter: Polly Walker.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 11:00 AM in Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 3175 Valley View Drive, in Bath, PA. Friends and Relatives are invited to call on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Emmanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery. Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at: bensingfuneralhome.net. Arrangements and cremation care are under the direction of the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, INC. Moorestown - Bath.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to the church.
