Carl Shafer Obituary

Carl H. Shafer, 79, of Hamilton Township, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2025 at St. Luke's Hospital-Monroe. Born on December 6, 1945 at home in Hamilton Township, he was a son of the late Edwin and Alice (Marsh) Shafer and a lifetime resident of Monroe County. Carl worked for John Rimmel as a mason, and then for the Pocono Mountain School District in their maintenance department until his retirement. He loved woodworking, feeding the wildlife, and his antique cars. Carl is survived by four daughters, Victoria Smith, Lisa Sargent, Denise Lapp, Carla Shafer; two sisters, Lois Smith, Jenny Snyder; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and loyal friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two siblings, Edwin Shafer, Jr. and Jean Rutt. Services will be held Wednesday, August 20th at 11:00 am at The Salvation Army Church, 226 Washington St, East Stroudsburg. Private cremation was entrusted to the William H. Clark Funeral Home. For those wishing to honor Carl's memory, the family requests that donations be made to The Salvation Army Church, 226 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301.
