Carl Shafer Obituary

Carl H. Shafer, 89, of Breinigsville, passed away peacefully in his home with his family by his side. He was the husband of Edith G. (Mengel) Shafer with whom he shared many years of marriage together. Born in Hosensack, Carl was the son of the late Edwin and Minnie (Ruppert) Shafer. Carl proudly served his country in the United States Army. After his service, Carl worked for Ceramet and Bally Case and Cooler for many years until his retirement. In retirement he continued to work as a driver for Haldeman Ford and lastly for Upper Macungie Township. Carl enjoyed camping, doing crosswords and watching old cowboy movies, especially John Wayne. Above all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Carl is survived by his wife, Edith, daughter Connie Shafer of Breinigsville; stepdaughters Tonia Cruz of Bethlehem, Tammy Moss of Centerport, Sandy Murch ; Step Son Anthony Skidmore; Granddaughter Jade Shafer, step granddaughters Rockel Stoudt, Kattie Cruz and Samantha Weaver; Great Grandchildren Jadayah Shafer and Anthony Arce, Jr.; step great grandchildren Kohen Stoudt, Kameryn Stoudt, Trey Clark, Lilyanna Clark, Jayden Weaver and Caleb Weaver. Carl is also survived by his brother Gary Shafer of Trexlertown. Carl was preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
