Cheryl Ann Parker

Cheryl Ann (Smith) Parker passed away peacefully June 5, 2025 surrounded by love. Born in 1945 in York, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Anna (LoBianco) Smith and Laurence R. Smith. She was preceded in passing by her parents and brother, Larry Smith. Cheryl was active in York Little Theatre and a graduate of York Catholic High School. She went on to be a lifelong learner combining her love of dance, music, and business in several di erent careers, but truly excelled in non profit volunteer and leadership endeavors. Life led her from Pennsylvania to Maryland to Florida to South Carolina and back again to Pennsylvania. Many were touched by her boundless source of energy and generosity, most notably the Long Bay Symphony in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where she was President from 2007-2011 and retains the distinction of Honorary Lifetime Director. In Fort Myers, Florida she was active with the American Red Cross, holding leadership positions at the local and state level. Her passion was fundraising and volunteer recognition and she left her mark there designing the Clara Barton Awards Gala. She was also active in fundraising events for Juvenile Diabetes as well as the Uncommon Friends Foundation in Fort Myers. She filled this full circle journey with many days of golf, tennis, travel with family, and time spent boating on the water. Cheryl is lovingly remembered by a circle of family and friends; her children John Orendor and wife Wendy, and daughter Kathy and husband Trevor Rush; grandchildren Aaron, Eddie, Erin, Jack, Marina, and Piper, as well as several great grandchildren. Special thanks to her kind caregiving team of Heather, the extended Schwoyer family, and Amada Senior Home Care who helped bring comfort to her in her final years. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date. Memorial contributions may be shared in Cheryl's name to any of her favorite charity organizations as she always believed you should "give what you can, however you can" or to the Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research Foundation, Alzheimer's Association or Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
