Christopher Yakscoe Obituary

Christopher Yakscoe of Scottsdale, AZ, formerly of Collegeville passed away from a tragic skiing accident on March 1, 2025. He was 35 years old. Chris was born in Philadelphia to Noreen (nee McDaniel) and Stephen Yakscoe. In addition to his parents, Chris is survived by his siblings, Stephen (Kelly), James (Liz), Nora (Adam), Eileen, and Kris Igoe; maternal grandparents, Thomas and Nora McDaniel; nephews, Theodore, Hank, and Asher; Goddaughter Claire and Godsons Thomas and James; and girlfriend, Maddie. Chris accomplished more in his 35 years than most could dream of in a lifetime. He was a highly successful business executive, having built and sold a tech company. He raised millions of dollars and volunteered his time for dozens of charities focused on local children in need through the Scottsdale Saguaros. Most importantly, Chris took great pride in being a family man and was a devoted Son, Brother, Uncle and Godfather. He went above and beyond for the people he loved. Chris was highly intelligent, kind, generous, adventurous and fun-loving. His larger-than-life personality positively impacted everyone he met. The life of the party, he'd make friends everywhere he went. Chris was a world traveler and someone who embodied the phrase "living life to the fullest". He kept his faith in God which was instilled in him by Noreen and Steve from a young age. He joins his late sister, Caitlin "Katy" Yakscoe, in eternal rest. Relatives and friends are invited to Christopher's Life Celebration on Saturday, March 8th, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:50 PM at Visitation B.V.M. Church, 196 N. Trooper Road, Norristown, PA 19403. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to one of Saguaros many charities: https://www.saguaros.com/charities. Noreen and Steve, Just no words how sad I was to read about Chris. Love how he lived his life making a difference and how he loved the outdoors! You´re an amazing family, and I can´t imagine any parent losing children. Our hearts break for you, and while we know you will see him again in eternal life, right now prayers for navigating these emotions! Noreen, I always thought of you as a Saint working in the ED, such a gift to all. He was lucky to know Gods love and love of his family. Keeping you in our prayers. Love, Sue (Stevenson) Mikulski

Yakscoe Family. My heart breaks for all of you. I was so sad to hear of Christopher's ski accident. I live in Park City and we lost our 21 year old son to a ski accident in 2022, and I can certainly relate to your frustrations around what happened in all of the chaos. I can help you understand what may have happened with regard to him not being given his last rights and give you guidance on how to retrieve all of the accident reports. Please contact me when you are ready and again I am so sorry for your loss. What an amazing human Christopher was.

I first met Chris in late 2021 through work, and we quickly became a great team, working closely together over the years. I always looked up to Chris - not just for his incredible work ethic and talent, but for the person he was. Even though he was only a few years older than me, I often found myself aspiring to be more like him.

Above all, I was lucky to call Chris a friend. He had a rare way of making every conversation meaningful, always showing genuine interest in my life outside of work - even remembering to ask about my two young kids by name, something that even my closest friends sometimes forget.

I´m incredibly grateful that I got to see Chris just a few weeks ago in Florida. He made such a positive and lasting impact in his far too short time here, and I will sincerely miss him. My thoughts and prayers are with all of his friends and family. The world truly lost a great one.
