Craig Miechur Obituary

Craig Adam Miechur, 64, of Alpha, New Jersey, passed away from a brief illness on April 11, 2025, just days shy of his 65th birthday on April 18th. Born on April 18, 1960, in Phillipsburg, NJ, Craig was a beloved son of the late Frank and Stella (Bobinis) Miechur. He was a graduate of Phillipsburg High School. Craig worked as a dedicated machinist at McWane Ductile, where he was respected for his skill, hard work and reliability. Craig lived life to the fullest. Adventurous at heart, he sought out thrills and experiences-skydiving, skiing, deep sea fishing, and even bobsledding in Lake Placid. He was also a tech enthusiast who built his own computer and enjoyed gaming, always curious and eager to learn something new. Craig will be remembered for his free spirit, his big heart, and the many memories he created with those he loved. Craig leaves behind his loving brothers, Frank Miechur Jr. and his wife, Josie; James Miechur,; and dear sister, Diane Turdo and her husband, Frank, all of Nazareth. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who adored him, especially his best buddy and nephew, Brian, with whom he shared a special bond. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Stella, with whom he shared many years of love and companionship. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at 10:00 am at Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp. Arrangements are entrusted to Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.) Like my brother Steve and friend Clyde, I have not been close to Craig for many years. In spite of this, I still have fond memories of time spent together during our late teens and early adulthood. As mentioned by my brother, music was very often at the center of our time together, whether it was attending concerts, listening to records on Craig's awesome stereo set-up in his bedroom at his parent's home in Bloomsbury, or cruising around in his (1969?) Chevy Impala cranking out tunes on the 8-track player (with tapes often supplied courtesy of Craig's sister-in-law Josie). Much time has passed since those days, still I cannot listen to certain bands and musicians without remembering Craig and the shared experience of discovering new music.

I have no doubt Craig is just fine and being well attended to, but of course he will be greatly missed by family and friends. May peace be with all who are mourning this sad loss and temporary separation. Rest in peace Craig.

I have not been in touch with Craig for many years as our paths diverged and there was little opportunity to see one another. We spent seemingly endless time together when we were first out of school; listing to music, installing the biggest sterios we could find in our cars, and playing video games. He taught us to play pinocle around his kitchen table in Bloomsbury and I still play to this day when i have the chance. Craig was always ready to have fun and we did our best to do so whenever we could. Even though we didn't see each other any longer, it's sad to know he's not still out there somewhere. Godspeed Craig.

I was very sorry to learn of Craig's passing today. Although I haven't been in contact with Craig in more recent years I have many fond memories of going to concerts with and spending time with Craig and the entire Miechur family. My deepest sympathies to Craig's siblings and extended family. God bless.
