Daniel Egrie Obituary

Daniel P. Egrie, 80, of North Coventry Township, PA, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest. He was the beloved husband of Joanne (Cullum) Egrie, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage. Born in Pottstown, PA, on October 31, 1944, Dan was the son of the late Paul and Mary (Mourar) Egrie. Dan graduated from Pottstown High School in 1962, where he enjoyed playing football. He then went on to attend Penn State University. For the next 44 years, he built a career with Dana Incorporated, a commitment he took great pride in until his retirement. He was an avid NASCAR fan, especially of Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr., and enjoyed following many sports, with Penn State Football being his favorite. He was also a member of Pottstown Elks Lodge #814 and Stichter Lodge #254. Dan will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Joanne; his daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Job Van Leusden of Costa Rica; and his granddaughter, Kaitlyn Van Leusden of South Carolina. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his children, Kristen Ann Egrie and Paul "Chip" Daniel Egrie. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Cedarville United Methodist Church, 1092 Laurelwood Rd., Pottstown, PA 19465. A masonic service will be held at 10:45 a.m., followed by a memorial service celebrating Dan's life at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dan's memory to Main Line Animal Rescue or to Cedarville United Methodist Church at the address listed above.
