David Godlewski Obituary

David M. Godlewski, 70, son, brother and uncle, formerly of Bethlehem, PA passed away peacefully on March 6 surrounded by his family and the loving staff at Gracedale Nursing Home in Nazareth, PA. He was the son of the late Richard Eugene Godlewski and Lorraine Theresa (Weise) Godlewski. David was a long time Sodexo Food Service employee at Lehigh University and Northampton Area Community College, where he was reputed to be one of their most dependable employees. A lifelong Philadelphia sports fan, David rarely missed an Eagles or Phillies game. He could often be found cheering (or jeering) at the TV and always knew every player. His excitement for competition also translated into a love of game shows. He religiously watched Jeopardy and the Wheel of Fortune and often knew better than the contestants. David was introduced to bowling later in life through The Special Olympics. He found great camaraderie and joy in every roll of the ball. Survivors: three sisters: Christine wife of Glenn Donchez of Bethlehem, PA, Judy wife of Chris De Francesco of Toms River, NJ and Donna wife of Gary Carty of Allentown, PA: Nephews, Ryan & Luke Carty. We ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Special Olympics in David's name. https://www.specialolympics.org/get-involved/donate/special-olympics-tribute-giving
