David R. Kurtz Sr.

David Richard Kurtz Sr., 62, of Pottstown, PA, passed away on May 22, 2025, at Pottstown Hospital after courageously facing ALS. He was the beloved husband of Dara Lynn (Freese) Kurtz, with whom he shared 31 years of marriage. Born in Pottstown on May 17, 1963, Dave was the son of the late Alfred F. Kurtz and Dorothy R. (Zipay) Kurtz. He was a proud graduate of Pottstown High School, Class of 1981, and dedicated 29 years to his career as a machinist with Dana Incorporated. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Dara; his children, Jaira (Evan) Hughes and David Kurtz Jr.; his cherished grandchildren, Roen and Kai; and his sisters, Deborah Kurtz, Barbara Scheffey, and Carol Kurtz. Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the Gathering Center of Saint Aloysius Church, 223 Beech St., Pottstown, PA 19464, where a viewing will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m., with interment afterward at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Stowe, PA.
