Debra L. McCarthy

Debra L. (Kisch) McCarthy, 67, wife of John Thomas McCarthy, passed away at her home peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, September 26, 2025. Born in Pottstown, she was the daughter of Blais Ann (Selwyn) Bari. Debra had a passion for gardening, cooking, and painting. She was a fabulous cook. She will be dearly missed and remembered as a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Surviving along with her husband John, is her son Justin Peterson, companion of Emily Thiel; daughter Allison Peterson, wife of Robert Freeman; her mother Blais Ann Bari; siblings Larry Selwyn, husband of the late Marybeth; Georgia Piccarreta,wife of Pete; Dana Kisch, husband of Deb; Nancy Ziegler, wife of Barry; Andy Kisch; Charlotte Hettrick, wife of Brian; grandchildren Brayden, Jackson, and Aly; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her nephew Adrian Kisch. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 11:00AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation center (329 N. Lewis Rd., Royersford, PA 19468) with Deacon Jim Nash officiating. Burial will be held privately by the family at a later time. A visitation will also be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 9:00AM-11:00AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia Research Foundation (https://leukemiarf.org/) in Debra's name.
