Donald Ghiggeri Obituary

Donald W. Ghiggeri, 78, of Palmer Twp. passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025 in Arden Courts Nursing Home. Born on August 22, 1946 in Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late Aldo and Dorothea (Saam) Ghiggeri. He was a life long resident of Middlesex, NJ before moving to Palmer Twp. He graduated from Middlesex High School in 1964 and earned his Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from Rutgers University and his Master's Degree from Newark College of Engineering. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Upon his honorable discharge, he was employed by Dewberry Engineers from 1970 until his retirement in 2011. He was a member of American Society of Civil Engineers. Belonging to Trout Unlimited, he was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed skiing, playing cards and fantasy football. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with family. Donald is survived by his brothers, John A. Ghiggeri and his wife, Sheri of Milford, NJ; Michael J. Ghiggeri, Sr. and his wife, Dee of Bloomsbury, NJ; nephew, Michael Ghiggeri, Jr. and his wife, Erika of Milford, NJ; nieces, Mary Doe Donecker and her husband, John of Germantown, TN; Megan Davis and husband, Matthew of Holland Twp., NJ; and many great nieces and great nephews. Donald was preceded in death by his niece, Tracey Barnett. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.) followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am. Interment will be on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 10:00 am at Resurrection Cemetery, East Lincoln Avenue, Piscataway, NJ. Soldier, you are now relieved from your post. Donald, a job well done fellow Vietnam Veteran. The final battle is now over and peace has been restored. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom. The final volley has sounded and taps is about to sound ending a successful career as a nation“s defender. Farewell fellow veteran.
