Elinore Carlstrom Obituary
Elinore Gustafson Carlstrom, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on September 21, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on October 22, 1930, in Baltimore, MD, Elinore was the daughter of the late Elner and Ruth (Gnass) Gustafson and the sister of the late Dorothy Gustafson. Her life was a testament to her strength, compassion, and unwavering faith.
Elinore's educational journey culminated in her earning a bachelor's degree from Washington College, a foundation that would form her life's work and passions. She married the late Daniel Carlstrom, with whom she shared a life of love and commitment, and together they raised a family that was their pride and joy. She is survived by her devoted children: Daniel Carlstrom, Jr. and his wife Sally, Sally A. Matthews and her husband Mike, and Thomas Carlstrom and his wife Michelle. Elinore's legacy continues through her five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her spirit of generosity and kindness.
Elinore dedicated herself to serving others. She worked tirelessly in prison ministry, offering hope and guidance to those in need of redemption and a new path. In addition, Dan and Elinore lived in Newark, NJ for 5 years as missionaries for World Impact reflecting their deep commitment to social justice and desire to make a tangible difference in the world. Elinore's dedication to her faith was evident in her active participation in the Bible Study Fellowship for over 40 years, where she not only grew in her own spirituality but also nurtured the faith of countless others.
Elinore was a devoted member of Ebenezer Bible Fellowship, living out her faith through service and a genuine commitment to community. She believed deeply that the Christian life was best expressed through love in action.
Her life was filled with joy and purpose. With unwavering optimism and a gift for seeing the good in every person and situation, Elinore inspired all who knew her. She met each day with grace and gratitude, freely sharing her love with her family, her friends, and her God.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Ebenezer Bible Fellowship Church, 3100 Hecktown Rd, Bethlehem, PA 18020 with a luncheon to follow.
