Esther I. Crouse

Esther I. Crouse, 91, of Durham Twp., Bucks County, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at Moravian Village of Bethlehem. She was the loving wife of the late Robert S. Crouse, who died on February 27, 2017. Born in Ferndale, Nockamixon Twp. on February 20, 1934, Esther was the daughter of the late Herbert C. and Ruth E. (Trexler) Melchor. After her marriage, she devoted herself to the family farm in Durham Township, working tirelessly alongside her husband. She tended calves, maintained a large garden, prepared meals for the farmhands, family gatherings, and supported every aspect of the Robert and Esther Crouse Farm with unwavering dedication.

Esther was a devoted member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Durham, where she served as a past council member, led the Soup Suppers, and was an active member and past president of WELCA. She was known for her kind and giving spirit, often mending clothes for others and serving as a caregiver to many in her family. Above all, she lived for her loved ones.

She is survived by her loving children: Nancy J. (Frank J.) Moskella of Easton; Donald R. (Mary E.) Crouse of Riegelsville; Diane S. (Steven R.) Dewalt of Easton; and Bruce W. (Lisa G.) Crouse of Riegelsville; Grandchildren: Jennifer, Shawn, Matthew, Rachel, Laura, Kelvin, Nicole, and Alex; Great-grandchildren: Hunter, Mason, Makayla, Lucas, Mackenzie, Giovanni, Liam, Addison, Holden, Vayda, Luciano, Olivia, Peyton, Barrett, and Laynee; siblings: Dorothy Fleming of Milford, NJ, Herbert Melchor of Gordonville, Marlene Free of Kintnersville, Marie Wisner of Kintnersville. Predeceased by a brother: Harry Renninger.

Family and friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main Street, Hellertown, and again from 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Durham, followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Durham Cemetery, Durham Township.
