Francis Joseph White, Jr. "Frank", 82, of Lansdale, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Elsie K. White. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, he was "Pop" to his three children Francis J. White III "Trey"(and his wife Christine), Heather C. Landis (and her husband Kevin), and Scott H. White (and his wife Colleen); and "Poppy" to his grandchildren Lyndsay Balmer (and her husband Jesse), Cody Landis, Ashley Landis, Scott White, Jr., Margaret White, and Katherine White; and great grandchildren; Dakota and Reece.
He is also survived by a brother, John White (who lost his wonderful wife Donna); and a sister, Carol Levis (and her husband Stretch) as well as many nephews, nieces, family and friends.
Frank was born in Abington, the son of the late Francis J. White, Sr. and Loretta White. Through his time at Abington High School (Class of 1959) and Pennsylvania Military College (Class of 1964), Frank formed strong friendships that lasted the rest of his life.
Entering the military straight from college, he proudly served in the United States Army from 1964 to 1977, completing two tours during the Vietnam War – between which he met and married Elsie. Stationed in Germany during his military service, Frank and Elsie enjoyed traveling throughout Europe, which fostered their mutual love of history. He completed his service with the rank of Captain and earned several US and South Vietnamese combat and service medals, including the Army Commendation Medal and 2 Bronze Stars.
Following his military service, Frank worked as Head of Security for Conrail, then led security for Rhone-Poulenc Rorer and Novartis pharmaceuticals. Later in life he was a commercial realtor for many years and worked for a time at a Bergey's Dealership and TD Bank.
A life-long car lover, Frank was a Porsche enthusiast in his 30's… until his family could no longer fit. He enjoyed hunting, which he often referred to as, "a long walk in the woods". Family summers were spent in Cape May, NJ, where as an avid fisherman, he frequently caught and fried incredibly expensive flounder for his family (when taking into account the cost of his boat, fuel, etc.). This passion for fishing led him to obtain his U.S. Coast Guard Captain's License, which he put to use in a brief entrepreneurial stint as a charter fishing captain. He was also a member of the Souderton-Harleysville Game, Fish, and Forestry Association.
Frank's enthusiasm for football included traveling to see both his sons play during their college years, catching hundreds of footballs while his son Scott practiced punting, and cheering on the Eagles alongside his family (Go Birds!). When it came to the "girls" in his family, he was their fierce protector and loving advisor.
His greatest joy and passion was being a grandfather and a great-grandfather, always ready with a warm smile and huge hug for all the kids. He was also a lover of dogs, from his own dogs, to all of his grand-dogs – though none were ever quite as spoiled as his last, Fiona.
The most important thing that Frank shared with those he loved was his strong faith in Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Frank's, faith, warmth, loyalty and genuine interest in everyone he met, cultivated friends near and far. Frank will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11:00 am on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Penn Valley Church, 320 N. Third Street, Telford, PA 18969, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am. Interment will be held privately at New Goshenhoppen Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Frank's name may be made to The
Wounded Warrior Project (https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org/) or Grace Christian School, Telford ( Make a Donation - Grace Christian School).
