Frederick Bauer Pennewell

Frederick Bauer Pennewell passed away peacefully with family by his side on February 17, 2025. He was 75. Fred was born to Margaret and Fred Pennewell on January 28, 1950. A lifelong Coopersburg resident and graduate of Southern Lehigh class of 1967, Fred attended Moravian College and DuPage Horticultural School in Chicago before returning to the family business. With his father, Fred managed the growing operations of Pennewell's wholesale flower business and was a well-known face in the community delivering smiles and fresh flower arrangements throughout the Lehigh Valley for over 50 years. After his parents retired, he helped his sister Hannah at Coopersburg Country Flowers and tended the grounds at Coopersburg Apartments and the gardens of a few close friends. Fred was known for his encyclopedic knowledge of music and music history, his kindness, sense of humor and his master level pool-playing skills, which he acquired from his father. Fred is predeceased by his parents Fred and Margaret Pennewell and is survived by his sisters Hannah Poole, Pamela (Dave) Cloud, nieces Ruth and Kelsey Poole, nephew Noah Cloud and great-niece Grace Garcia. He loved and cared for his friends deeply, especially his soul brothers Wayne Young, Tom Steele, Jim Hart and Ron Carruba. The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to the staff at St. Lukes Hospital in Quakertown for their compassionate care and support provided to Fred during this difficult time. Fred instructed that his body be donated to Humanity Gifts, for teaching purposes. Memorial donations may be made to the Allentown Rescue Mission, . Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of his life on March 22 from 12pm-4pm at Upper Saucon Social Quarters at 4900 Lanark Rd, Center Valley, PA 18034.
