H. Butler Obituary

H. Stanley Butler, Jr., 93, of Mt. Bethel, PA, passed away Tuesday, March 25th, at his residence. Stanley was born in Easton, PA on January 12, 1932, a son of the late Henry Stanley Butler, Sr. and Mable (Schwar) Butler. He was the husband of Patricia G. (Peterson) Butler. They would have celebrated their 74th wedding anniversary this coming April. Stanley was employed as a Union Journeyman Carpenter for the Union Brotherhood of Carpenters in Philadelphia, PA, for 44 years until retiring in 1994. He was a lifetime member of the Bernardine May American Legion Post #457 in Phillipsburg, NJ. He enjoyed woodworking and cabinetry. Stanley served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, receiving the National Defense Service and Good Conduct Medals. He was a member of St. Rocco's Roman Catholic Church in Martins Creek, PA. In addition to his wife Patricia, Stanley is survived by four daughters, Donna Loring, Valerie Patti, Janice Bartholomew, and Kelly Zavacky; two sons, Timothy and Michael Butler; a sister, Jean Fahringer; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Patricia Christopher. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Tuesday, April 1st, at St. Rocco's Roman Catholic Church, 6658 School St., Martins Creek, PA. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 AM on Tuesday, April 1st, at James J. Palmeri Funeral Home, 6602 Alpha Ave., Martins Creek, PA. A Korean War veteran has passed away today. Mr Butler, you have made your final flight into the wild blue yonder´s. You are now relieved from your post. A job well done fellow veteran. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom. The final volley has sounded and taps is about to sound ending a successful career as a nation´s defender. Have a smooth flight airman.
