Howard O. Kindred, 80, of Bushkill Twp., passed away peacefully while surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Susan Kindred (Hawk) to whom he was married to for 38 years. Born in Easton, Howard was a son of the late William and Mary Kindred (Schaffer).
Howard began his working career as a supervisor at the former Kraemer Textiles in Nazareth, where he committed himself to his craft and mentored many during his tenure. He concluded his professional journey at the Walgreens Warehouse in Hanover Township, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and determination. He was a member of Holy Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church. - Nazareth.
Howard enjoyed the outdoors, finding peace in hunting, fishing, and gardening. He also enjoyed the Philadelphia Phillies. His greatest joy, however, came from spending time with his family. He cherished each moment spent with them. Howard's warmth, wisdom, and playful spirit will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In addition to his wife, Howard will be dearly missed by his children: Jennifer Rissmiller (Stephen) of Nazareth and Matthew Smith (Miranda) of Wind Gap; grandchildren: Jillian, Ryan and Brycen; nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by siblings: Mabel Heft, Virginia M. Fenstermaker, Jane Kindred, William Kindred and Pat Lessig.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, in the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, INC. - 2165 Community Drive - Bath, PA 18014. Friends and Relatives are invited to call on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will conclude services at Bushkill M.E. Cemetery.
