James Buckley Obituary
James F. Buckley, 53, of Temple, formerly of Charleston, West Virginia, passed away peacefully with his family beside him on September 27, 2025, at Penn State Health – St. Joseph.
Born April 26, 1972, in Charleston, West Virginia, he was the adopted son of the late Charles Walton and Janice F. (Carter) Buckley.
Jim was a proud graduate of Sissonville High School and went on to earn his bachelor's degree from the University of Phoenix. With an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for technology, he founded and operated MudN'Works Web Development, where he helped countless businesses bring their visions to life online.
Jim also proudly served his country in the United States Army, an experience that shaped the discipline, loyalty, and camaraderie he carried throughout his life.
Family meant everything to Jim. He was a devoted father to Alexandra Rose Buckley, Emily Marie Buckley, Charles Joseph Buckley, and Mikayla Grace Buckley. He was the beloved brother of Crystal Goetz (Rick) and Greg Buckley, and the proud uncle of Andrea Goetz. He is also survived by countless other family members who loved him dearly.
He loved music of all kinds, and in his 40s he became an avid guitar player, enjoying the challenge of learning and playing new songs. Jim was also a highly skilled artist who developed a love of drawing mythical creatures during his high school years and carried that passion throughout adulthood.
Beyond work and family, Jim had an adventurous spirit. He was happiest behind the wheel of his Jeep, exploring trails, mud, and backroads with his four-wheeling friends. Those who rode with him know the joy, freedom, and community he found in those moments. He built friendships that lasted a lifetime, grounded in loyalty, laughter, and shared adventures.
Jim's legacy is one of love, resilience, creativity, and the way he brought people together-whether around a campfire, on the trail, or simply through his warm and steady presence.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Jim's medical team for their compassionate care, and to all of his friends who stood by him during his illness-especially Randy Gilbert and Alexander Smith -whose support meant so much.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
