Dear Pat, Frank, Paul, Melissa, Laurie, Mark, James Jr., Marianne, Loretta, Stephen, Tammy, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, I am very sorry for your immense loss; my friend Jim was an old school gentleman who always carried himself with dignity and honor, always respectful, thoughtful and courteous towards everyone around him. He always told the truth and was not afraid to stand his ground whenever it was needed.
His deep voice and unmistakable laugh were his unquestionable trademark, although everyone knew that behind that deep voice and solemn appearance, there was a very caring, thoughtful and loving human being, especially when talking to Pat, his booming voice would mellow down and transformed himself into a tender, softspoken teddy bear.
Jim was a very talented and knowledgeable worker with an exemplary work ethic. His drawings were authentic displays of outstanding skill and workmanship, bold and precise line work, accompanied by the most distinguished and superb handwriting, the quality of his work was always recognized and admired by all his peers; as a senior structural designer he was always willing to share from the wealth of knowledge that he acquired mostly through his experience as a structural steel detailer at Bethlehem Steel. I remember whenever he had finished a thorough check of a drawing, I would marble when taking a glance at his work, the thoroughness, neatness, and precision of his work were extraordinary, one of a kind. I was blessed to work side by side with my friend, and to cherish many fond memories of our time together. I will always remember my good friend.
