James Coles Obituary

James Issac Coles, 78, of East Stroudsburg, died in his home surrounded by his loving wife and children on Thursday, May 22, 2025. James also known as "Jimmy" was a happy man who loved to joke around and support those around him. He was always around for a kind word or even some advice, and he supported everyone and loved everyone. James served his time in the military giving his family many stories to tell that we all had to listen to for hours. I would give a lot to hear those stories again and stay with him a little longer. James loved sports, cooking shows, and the news. In every visit with him there was something interesting on his tv screen that he was so ready to talk about. He loved education and enjoyed hearing about his grandchildren futures and what they wanted to do with their lives. His family will now live and succeed for him. Born in Bronx, NY he was the son of O'celia Coles & Rufus Grant who proceeded him in death along with his sisters, Mary & Alfreda Surviving are his wife, Sally Coles; brother, Frank Coles; children, James Jr, and wife India, Derrick and wife loutanjir, latika and husband Douglas, Keith, Eddie and wife Keisha; grandchildren, Aisha, Zyaire, K'yon, Amani Derrick Jr, Kalia, Kamaia, Sapphire, Makiyah, Tywill, Mozel, Margaret, Robert, LaQuesha, Abiola, Nefertiti, Malachi and jhi-rue; great grandchildren, Neveah, Jada, Aamir, Na'eem, Jayden, Imanii, Azariah, Peyton, Ariana and Arion; and his brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and god kids. We will always remember you. Services will be held on Saturday, May 31st, at the William H.
