James Knox Obituary

James "Jimmy" Knox, a man of great humor and boundless courage, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, PA. Born on May 28, 1964, a son to James and Constance (Anewalt) Knox, in Palmerton, PA, Jimmy lived a life marked by love and laughter. Jimmy worked as a mason and for a brief period owned his own milk route. Throughout his battle with Multiple Sclerosis, he continued to work as much as his weakened body allowed by driving van for JTASD and CCTI until his cancer diagnosis in 2014. His courage and will to live for his family was his motivation for his cancer remission. Jimmy was a loving husband to his wife Lori (Heydt) Knox. They would have celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary on August 24th. Jimmy was very proud of and adored his 3 sons, Zach and his wife Candace of Jim Thorpe, Colton and his fiancée Paige Pfeifer of Jim Thorpe, and Sawyer of Jim Thorpe. Jimmy's legacy will continue through his cherished grandsons, Tate, Bo, Cade, and his eagerly awaited grandson, Jett, due in May. He is also survived by his sisters, Stacy Lauth of Jim Thorpe, Karen Meeker of Lehighton, father-in-law, step father-in-law, several nieces and nephews, as well as aunts and uncles. Anyone who knew Jimmy knew his love for his cartons of iced tea, classic rock music, the Philadelphia Phillies, Miami Dolphins, and Penn State. His favorite hobby in his earlier years was fishing every chance he could. Those who had the pleasure of knowing Jimmy will remember him as a man who embraced life's challenges with a smile and sense of humor. His courage in the face of adversity was an inspiration to all. Jimmy approached every day with a heart full of love for his family, friends, and the simple pleasures of life. As we bid farewell to Jimmy, we celebrate the memories he leaves behind, the lives he touched, and the laughter he shared. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him. James Knox's story is one of a life well-lived, filled with moments of joy and an enduring legacy of love. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family and all who had the honor of crossing paths with him. A celebration of Jimmy's life will be held on Saturday March 15, at 2:30 pm in the David J. Stianche Funeral Home, 123 Center St. Jim Thorpe. Calling hours will begin at 12:30 until the time of the service in the funeral home. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions can be made in his name to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of James Knox, please visit our floral store.

It was a pleasure getting to know Jimmy and taking goodies in for him. Mama adored him for some reason and now she can see her buddy again. My heart hurts for all of you.
