James Kramer Obituary

James "Jimbo" W. Kramer, 85, of Lansdale, PA passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at the Vassar Bros. Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. Jim was the loving husband of the late Mary Ellen (Magee) Kramer. He was born in Lansdale, PA to the late James W. Kramer, Sr. and the late Barbara Ruth (Fellman) Kramer. Jim was a graduate of North Penn High School in Lansdale, PA, class of 1957. Shortly thereafter, he joined the United States Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis serving as a Helicopter Engineer. Throughout his working lifetime, Jim was a flooring contractor for 30 years in Lansdale, PA, and afterwards a bus driver. He was a member of Calvary Chapel in Souderton, PA and the Free and Accepted Masons, Lodge 620 in Norristown, PA. Known as "Jimbo the clown", he enjoyed entertaining many children and elderly at hospitals, as well as entertaining with friends at the family campground. He was also active with the Tall Cedars group of the Masons. He would congregate once a year with other members at different shore locations. They would all host a parade and raise money for muscular dystrophy. During his retirement, he enjoyed taking care of the grounds of the Orvilla Cemetery in Hatfield, PA, where many of the Kramer family members have been laid to rest. Jim loved to go camping and riding ATVs with his family and friends. He and his late wife, Mary Ellen, enjoyed traveling throughout the world and the country. He will be remembered as a hard-working business owner and entertainer. Jim is survived by his two brothers, Douglas C. Kramer of Perkasie, PA, and Gary D. Kramer & wife Faye of Denver, CO; four children, Sherry Lynn Maw & husband Douglas of Lansdale, PA, Jeffrey Scott Kramer & wife Diana of Port Orchard, WA, Timothy James Kramer & wife Kristin of Wappingers Falls, NY, and Kevin Matthew Kramer of Philadelphia, PA; his 16 Grandchildren, Samantha, James, Avery, Jordon, Christopher, Jaclyn, Hilary, Dillon, Sarah, Adrienne, Alex, Caleb, Baylee, Katelyn, Fiona, Alek; and 20 great grandchildren, Matthew, Aurora, Hunter, Jimmy, Tracy, Xavier, Alexander, Jaime, Kyleigh, Cydnee, Trayden, Madily, Delaney, Reagan, Edward "Teddy" IV, Logan, Killian, Gwendolyn, Lïla, Blaire. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his first son, James John Kramer, and his two older brothers, James F. Kramer and Bobby Kramer. A graveside service will be held on April 18th at 1:00 pm at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940. James, you are now relieved from your watch. A job well done fellow navy veteran and mason. The final battle is now over and peace has been restored. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom. The final volley has sounded and taps is about to sound ending a successful career as a nation´s defender.
