James Pizzo Obituary

James Mario Pizzo, Sr. of Audubon Pennsylvania, passed away on January 4, 2025. He was 79 years old. Jim was born February 8, 1945, in Philadelphia to Grace and Eugene Pizzo. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Elaine (nee Vento); sons, James M. Pizzo, Jr. (Valerie), and Damian Pizzo (Jennifer); grandchildren, Isabella Grace, Hunter James, and Mia Faith; siblings, Eugene (Joan), Carol McIntyre (James), Mark (Lhorie), Ron (Kate), Rita Ackert (Robert), Rick (Caroline); sister-in-law, Janet Chambers (Warren); and many nieces and nephews.
James was a 1962 graduate of Lansdale Catholic High School. James graduated from The Bryland Institute of Cosmetology, Charles of the Ritz School of Advanced Hair Design, and Vidal Sassoon Academies (London, San Francisco, and Toronto). He was an entrepreneur who owned and operated several hair salons (James Mario's Hair Fashions, Family Krimpers, and Looks Inc.) since the age of 19. James has taught nationally and has been published in numerous international hair design magazines. He was a self-taught artist who mastered many mediums including photography, wood sculpting, painting, jewelry, and Japanese bonsai gardens. His ability to master all that he attempted earned him the nickname of the Renaissance Man.
James enjoyed traveling with his family from coast to coast and celebrating many milestones together. He cherished the time he spent with Elaine most, but also his family, grandchildren, and friends. We thank you all for being a special part of the fabric of his life and legacy.
Relatives and friends are invited to Jim's Life Celebration on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Boyd-Horrox-Givnish Funeral Home, 200 W. Germantown Pike, Norristown, PA 19401. A funeral service will begin at noon.

I just learned that Jim passed away early in 2025. Most unfortunately my condolences are very late.
Jim and Elaine were wonderful friends to me and my late husband, Tim. We spent time together in open air concerts, and we overstayed our welcome in new restaurants. Elaine, please know that I treasure those moments together.
My love,
Kathy

It is with a heavy heart that I learned today-10/8/25-about the passing of my friend, Jim Mario.
His proclivity for great art of many mediums inspired me to trust his design style and ideas. He now rests in the arms of Jesus. Thanks, Jim, for your many kindnesses.

Dearest Elaine,
It´s difficult to find the right words to express how truly sorry I am for the loss of Jim. I have such fond memories of being with the two of you. He was a super talented, a kind and caring man and the best hairdresser EVER. I have yet to find anyone that could ever replace him. God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. May Jim rest in eternal peace.
