Janet Patterson Obituary

Janet Helen Patterson June 12, 1932 – August 27, 2025 Janet Helen Patterson, 93, of Hellertown, passed away peacefully at St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. She was born June 12, 1932 in New York City, New York to the late Joesph F Arnold and Agnes (Moorehead) Arnold. She graduated from St. Brendan's Catholic School in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, in 1949. Ten years later she would meet her future husband, the late Harry E. Patterson Jr. at the Cascade Lodge in Kintnersville, Pennsylvania. Janet bowled in various bowling leagues and was on the cusp of going pro before making the decision to settle down and start a family, something she did not regret. She and Harry were married October 8, 1960. They would go on to have four kids and thirty-one wonderful years together. Throughout her life she worked as a bartender, an office manager for Kirks Fuel and finally at Tumblebrook Golf Course for thirty-years, retiring in 2014. Janet cherished the moments spent with her family and friends. She enjoyed playing bingo, assembling jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, and of course, mahjong on her computer. Among her many joys were her trips to New York to visit her lifelong friend of nearly eighty years, Theresa "Mickey" Hutson. Our family is grateful that she was able to visit with her once more last month. Janet's laughter, which could brighten any gathering, will forever be remembered. Family: She is survived by her children, Joseph Patterson, Charles Patterson (Julie), and Jean Cressman, grandchildren, James Cressman (Kendal), Eric Patterson, Chelsea Cressman (Chance), Kelsey Patterson, Morgan Patterson, and Shawn Kunsman, Kathy Lippincott, David Lippincott (Tina Cooper), Patty James (Joseph), Carmel Heckman (Fred Bitner), Steven Patterson, and Alicia Patterson-Weiss, great-grandchildren, CJ Harka, Liam Cressman, Tara Lippincott, Casey Heckman, Zachary Lippincott, David Lippincott, Tyler James, Caitlin James, and Savannah Lippincott, goddaughter, Joann Hutson-Deliz (Edward). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Agnes Arnold, sister Viola Arnold (Flohr), husband Harry E. Patterson Jr., step-son Robert Patterson, daughter, Agnes H. Patterson, and step-daughter, Carol A. Lippincott. Services: A private service will be held for the family. The family thanks you for your love and support during this time. Online memorial tributes can be shared at www.Heintzelmancares.com. Arrangements are by the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. Hellertown Memorial Contributions: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Janet would've also loved the idea of donating jigsaw puzzles to the residents of Saucon Manor Apartments, 650 Northampton St. Hellertown, Pa. 18055. Her memory will live on through every family function, the sound of a deck of cards being shuffled, and in the hearts and memories of everyone who knew her.

I have fond memories of Janet. Going to New York sitting in the back seat of her Impala eating a bagel from New York. Going to Lundys & getting Necco wafer which i dislike now. Thoughts & prayers . Rest in peace.
