Jeanne Long Obituary

Jeanne Elaine (Trumbauer) Long, a cherished mother, sister, and friend, departed this life on February 28, 2025, at the age of 94, in her hometown of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where she was also born on October 7, 1930. Her life was a testament to her enduring kindness, dedication to her career, and service to her community.
The daughter of the late Wellington Lorenz Trumbauer and Dorothy E. (Wilson) Trumbauer, Jeanne grew up in Bethlehem, where she was nurtured in a home filled with love and support. She was predeceased by her brothers, Bruce and Robert Trumbauer, and her son-in-law, James "Brad" Sievers. Her legacy of love continues through her devoted daughter, Lynda Jeanne (Long) Sievers, and her beloved sister, Debra L. Sicherman and her husband, Joel, who remain to honor her memory.
Jeanne's passion for helping others led her to pursue a career in nursing. She proudly graduated from The Hospital Of The University of Pennsylvania School Of Nursing in 1951. With a compassionate heart and skilled hands, she dedicated 42 years of her life to her calling as an operating room nurse. For 34 of those years, she served the community at St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill, before retiring in 1993. Her unwavering commitment to her profession left an indelible mark on both her colleagues and the countless lives she touched.
Outside of her professional life, Jeanne was an active member of the New Covenant Christian Community Church. Her faith was a cornerstone of her existence, and she lived it out through her involvement in church activities. She volunteered tirelessly in the office, mailing birthday and anniversary cards to church members and greeting congregants with a warm smile as she handed out bulletins. Her service was a reflection of her belief in the importance of community and fellowship.
Jeanne's interests extended beyond her work and church activities; she was a familiar face at Musikfest, where she volunteered for 20 years. Her love for crocheting and knitting was more than a hobby; it was a way for her to create and share warmth and beauty with those around her. Her handcrafted items were not just pieces of art but tokens of her generous spirit.
Those who knew Jeanne will remember her for her nurturing nature, her dedication to her family, and her service to others. Her presence was a comfort to many, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with her. Jeanne's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with the threads of care, commitment, and community, leaving a pattern of inspiration for all to follow.

Remembering Jeanne fondly as a member of New Covenant Christian Community Church. She faithfully served at NC4 long before I started attending but I was able to deepen my relationship with her when I joined the staff late in 2008. I looked forward to seeing Jeanne every Monday morning when she came in to volunteer her time counting weekly cash tithe and offerings with me before giving more time around the office. I look forward to the day we see each other again.

Jeanne holds such an expression of faithfulness to me, as a young person meeting her for the first time, and over the years watching her service to people and to her community church. Of which I was a blessed recipient!
We love you Jeanne. All our heartfelt prayers and condolences to family. Her presence and faithfulness is very missed.

I´ll always remember Jeanne for all her kindnesses towards me and my family. The cards she sent, the gifts she sewed and crocheted for new babies and how graciously she opened her home for our weekly church group to meet. Such a servant and always happy to help! My condolences to her family. Her reward is great!
