Joanne A. Wambold, 88, of Moore Township, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Liza's House Personal Care Home in Lehigh Township. She was the beloved wife of Grant F. "Pappy" Wambold. Joanne and Grant would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on May 21st.
Born in Danielsville, Joanne was a daughter of the late Arthur M. and Alma (Kahler) Muffley. She was last employed as a lunchroom aide at the former Washington Elementary School in Northampton, and previously worked in the garment industry as a sewing machine operator at the former Mary Fashion Mfg. in Bath. Joanne was a member of the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union and the first woman life-member of Petersville Rod & Gun Club. A faithful member of Emmanuel's Lutheran Church, Joanne unselfishly devoted her time to serving as a volunteer on the kitchen committee for funeral luncheons and other activities for many years. Throughout the years, she and Grant enjoyed traveling and had many fond memories of sightseeing bus tours together with friends. Joanne always looked forward to weekly bingo at Klecknersville and she never missed an opportunity to try her luck on the slot machines at the casino.
Survivors: In addition to her loving husband, Grant, she will be dearly missed by her daughter, Sandra J. Frey, of Moore Township; two grandsons, Philip Frey and fiancee, Lindsey Shak, of Bethlehem Township, and Brandon Frey and his companion, Kristin, and her children, Santina and Emilio, of Moore Township; two great-grandchildren, Karissa Frey and partner, Jesse, and Spencer Frey and partner, Tarren; a brother, Dale Muffley and wife, Janet, of Danielsville; nieces and nephews
Joanne was predeceased by a sister, Jean M. Lotti; and a son-in-law, Leonard L. Frey.
Services: A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 1:30 P.M. in Emmanuel's Lutheran Church, 3175 Valley View Drive, Bath (Emanuelsville) PA 18014.
