Joyce was born on March 2, 1931 to Cleo and Christol (Quick) Cramer near Arborville. She grew up in the Polk area and graduated from Polk High School in 1948. Joyce was united in marriage to Richard Sealey, Jr. on March 2, 1948 in Central City. Joyce was very proud that her marriage to Richard lasted for over 73 years until his death in 2021. Joyce was a farm wife and caretaker of her family while also helping out on the farm for most of her adult life. Raising children and eventually helping with the grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren was her lifelong love.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Polk, United Methodist Women, and Order of the Eastern Star for many years. She enjoyed dancing with June, gardening and flowers, bowling, playing golf, and was a very accomplished seamstress, but her love for family was her most important role.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Dennis (Becky) Sealey of Sun Lakes, AZ, Richard Sealey of Polk, Peggy Rahe of Polk, and Pat (Allan) Urkoski of Clarks; her 11 grandchildren, Gregory, Jason, and Kyle Sealey, Trisha Alexander, Travis Rahe, Mindi Bridges, Jenna Bargmann, and Jill, Kraig, Keith, and Kevin Urkoski; her sisters, Jackie Cline of Central City, Joan Frahm of Kansas City, MO, and Judy (Mel) Storck of Whitewater, WI, 25 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard "June" Sealey; her sisters, Jeanette Shostrom and Jean Brinley; her sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Richard) Cramer and Ramona Steuben; great-grandson, Taylor Sealey and son-in-law, Brad Rahe.
