Kay I. Mohr

Kay I. ( Knappenberger) Mohr, 90, of Allentown, passed away on Sunday July 13, 2025 at Cedarbrook Nursing & Rehabilitation of Allentown. Born in Allentown, Kay was the daughter of the late Charles and Ethel (Schalter) Knappenberger. She was the loving wife of the late John T. Mohr, Jr with whom she shared many years of marriage until his passing in 2017. Kay worked for many years as a Medical Secretary at The Trexlertown Medical Group. After retirement she became a Nanny for the Thompson's and became part of the family. Kay was a member and Past Matron of East Penn Chapter No. 336, Order of the Eastern Star, Kutztown and a member of the Fearless Fire Co. Kay loved people and being around people, she will be missed for her quick wit and jokes by many. For over 24 years she and her husband John played Mr. and Mrs. Claus for family and friends. Most importantly she was a devoted member of Church of the Good Shepherd U.C.C. in Alburtis being a Sunday School Teacher and various other positions in the Church. When she was unable to attend, she read her devotional daily and read the Bible. Survivors: Daughter Kathy Repa, wife of Michael Shanley, of Lakewood Ranch, FL, Stepson Thomas Mohr, husband of Barbara, of Emmaus; Grandchildren Bradley, husband of Elaine Repa and Stephanie, wife of Chris Derr; Great Grandchildren Reign and Abbey. Services will be held on Tuesday September 2, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Good Shepherd U.C.C., 135 Quarry Rd # 1, Alburtis, PA 18011, with an Eastern Star Service held at 10:45 AM. Calling hour will begin at 10 AM. Memorial Donations in Kay's memory may be given to Church of the Good Shepherd U.C.C., c/o Schmoyer Funeral Home, PO Box 190, Breinigsville, PA 18031.
