Kyle Sheahan Obituary

Kyle Joseph Sheahan, 26, of New Hanover, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. Born in Wynnewood, PA, Kyle was the cherished son of Brian Joseph Sheahan and Mary Kay (Songaila) Sheahan. He graduated from Temple University with a degree in Criminal Justice where he was a brother of the Pi Lambda Phi fraternity. He was preparing for law school when he was devastatingly diagnosed with cancer. Known for his intelligence, wit, and gentle nature, Kyle was fortunate to have a solid circle of family and friends. He enjoyed gaming, playing soccer, and collecting Pokémon cards. His kind soul and warm presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Kyle is survived by his parents, Brian and Mary Kay; his sister, Lauren Sheahan; his grandfather, Frank Sheahan, husband of the late Susan Sheahan; and his grandparents, Walter and Carole Songaila. A visitation will be held at New Ridge Fellowship Church (2211 Swamp Pike, Gilbertsville, PA 19525) on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 6:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Ricky Ayala. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to RETPositive (https://givebutter.com/nV0S6u/team-kyle-1/brianmarykaysheahan) in Kyle's name.

On behalf of Pi Lambda Phi, please accept our sincere condolences on Kyle´s passing. Hopefully, everyone who loves him will be able to be together to celebrate his life and share fond memories of him. We are saddened to hear of any brother's passing, but especially so when one so young is lost.

I've updated our records so that we will remember Kyle again when our fraternity convenes for our annual gathering this summer in what we call our "Chapter Eternal Remembrance Ceremony." The names of brothers who have passed are read, candles are lit in their memory, somber fraternal prayers are recited, and beautiful songs are sung. It's our way of noting that although they are no longer with us in body, they are remembered.

Brother Mine Forever,
Kris Reiber
Pi Lambda Phi HQ/Edu. Foundation

P.S. The included Coat of Arms with the middle band blacked out honors Kyle´s transition to the Chapter Eternal.
