Lester O. Clore, 82, of Bethlehem Township passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025. Born on November 3, 1942, he was the son of the late Lester Clore and Helen (Wickham) Poplasky and her husband, Edward Poplasky. He was the Loving husband of the late Rosalyn (Hernandez) Clore.
Lester proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army Special Forces, the Green Berets. He spent over 30 years as a union representative for the United Steel Workers of America. He was a proud steel worker and loved the history of Bethlehem Steel. He often gave talks to students and groups at the National Museum of Industrial History. Lester lived an active and full life. He enjoyed fly fishing, Lehigh wrestling, Penn State football, a good Polish meal and taking trips in his RV. Most of all, he loved and adored his family, especially his grandchildren.
He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Tonya Strickland and her husband, Mark and Lisa Kraft and her husband, Ken; stepson, James Wyatt Clore; stepdaughter, Jeanne Montoya; grandchildren, Jason, Nicholas, Ashley, Adam, Lucas, Kenneth and Max; great-grandson, Vincent and sisters Susan Fogel and her husband, Richard and Julie Mostek. Lester was preceded in death by his stepson, Steven F. Clore.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025 from 6-8 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. A viewing will also be held on Friday, January 10, 2025 from 10-11 a.m. in the funeral home with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Memorial Park
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Alzheimer's Association
