Mara Anne Beck

1952 - 2025

Mara Beck, 73, of Kutztown, PA, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly in her sleep on Dec. 11, 2025. Born on Sept. 28, 1952, Mara grew up in Bethlehem and attended Dieruff H.S. where she met her future husband, Rod Beck. Mara and Rod married shortly after graduating and had a beautiful 53 year marriage. Together they raised 2 boys, Jeremy and Curtis.

In 1985 the family moved to New Tripoli where Mara was active in many community groups and worked as a High School Administrative Secretary at Northwestern Lehigh School for over 20 years. An avid gardener, Mara achieved the prestigious Master Gardener designation from Penn State and designed several area gardens, using her exquisite taste and her knowledge of local plants to beautify her community.

Upon retiring, Rod and Mara moved to Kutztown. In retirement, she continued to garden, beautify her home and community, and indulge her love of travel, visiting new places far and near with Rod. Always up for adventure, Mara recently took up golf and frequently took advantage of living close to KU attending lectures and games on campus.

She is survived by her husband, Rod, her sons Jeremy and Curtis, her daughters-in law Kristen and Julie and her grandsons, Grayson and Alexander. The family will be hosting a celebration of life in the spring, when Mara's much- loved plants begin to bloom.
