Margaret Deifer Obituary

Margaret M. Deifer, 89, of Allentown, passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2025 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late William F. Deifer, Sr., who died in 1988. Born in Allentown, she the last of 13 children of the late Truman F. and Bessie (Frack) Gaffney. Margaret worked as a seamstress at the August Nelson Factory for a short time, but she cherished the time spent raising her family. Margaret was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Allentown. She was also a member of Sights for Hope (formerly the Blind Association) in Allentown. Maragret enjoyed listening to Country music and liked to have fun wherever she went. Survivors: Sons, William F. Deifer, Jr. (Elizabeth) of Whitehall, Michael S. Deifer of Allentown and Thomas M. Deifer, Sr. (Wanda) of Summit Hill; daughters, Tina M. Davis (John) of Flagler Beach, FL, Esther J. Seibert (Carl Jr.) of Wescosville, Rose M. Deifer of Allentown, Debra A. Deifer of Allentown and Connie F. Deifer of Allentown; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. Margaret was also preceded in death by an infant grandson Luther Sarver. Services: A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, April 10, 2025 in the K.V. Knopp Funeral Home, 46 E. Susquehanna Street, Allentown. A viewing for relatives and friends will be held from 10 AM until the time of the service. Interment will follow at St. Mark's Cemetery, Allentown. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, may be made to St. Luke's Hospice, Development Office, 801 Ostrum Street, Bethlehem, PA 18015 or to Sights for Hope, 845 West Wyoming Street, Allentown, PA 18103.
