Marie G. Valentini

Marie G. Valentini passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was 95 years old. A Lansford resident, devoted her life to her family, her church and her community. Born and raised in New Columbus, Nesquehoning she graduated from St. Ann's Catholic High School in 1947, where she was captain of the cheerleading team. Marie was a devout Catholic serving as a member of the Choir and Rosary Society in the former St. Ann's and St. Michael's Roman Catholic Churches in Lansford and St. Joseph's Parish of the Panther Valley, Summit Hill. For years she was employed at the former Kiddie Kloes Garment Factory, served as a Crossing guard and worked on election campaigns to support her candidates. Marie devoted her life to her family, her church, and giving back to her community. She was a phenomenal cook, baker, and gardener. She made sure that the door to her house was open to all and that it was always a home filled with love, laughter and delicious Italian food. She and her late husband Pat enjoyed their later years spending time with their beloved grandchildren. Marie was predeceased by her beloved husband of 68 years, Pasquale "Pat" Valentini and her parents Giuseppe and Mattia (Lupo) Collura, brother, Jasper Collura and a sister, Girolama Collura. Marie was survived by two sons, David Valentini and his wife Patricia, and Joseph Valentini and his wife, Billie Sue, both of Fort Smith, AR; Daughter, Nancy Ann Valentini Letinski and her husband John of Barnegat, NJ; Her cherished Grandchildren, Erin Valentini Goss, David Valentini Jr., Ryanne Harper, Gianna Letinski Johnson, Joseph Pasquale Letinski and Nicole Ann Letinski; Her adored Great Grandchildren, Garrett Goss, Reed Goss, Cameron Joseph Johnson and Parker Daniel Johnson. She is survived by her loving brother, Pascal Collura and his wife Grace of Caldwell, NJ and also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews and Godchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at 1 p.m. from St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley, 462 W. Ludlow St., Summit Hill. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, White Bear, Summit Hill. Visitations Hours are Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Church.
