Mary T. Clarke

Mary T. (McGehearty) Rogers Clarke, age 85 of Hellertown, PA (formerly of Providence, RI, Middletown, NJ and Mountainside, NJ) went home to be with Jesus on Monday, October 27, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late George W. Rogers Jr. (Skip) and the late George A. Clarke Jr. She is survived by her children Kelley Borreggine (JB) of Naples, FL, Keith Rogers (Jill) of Castle Rock, CO, Katherine Jackson (Dave) of Bethlehem, PA, and Kevin Rogers (Barbara) of Clark, NJ. She is also survived by her bonus-children Michael Clarke (Susan) of Westfield, NJ, William Clarke (and the late Cindy) of Las Vegas, NV, Richard Clarke (and the late Joan) of Pensacola, FL, Sharon Vorndran (Anthony) of Roselle Park NJ, the late Brian Clarke (and the late Diane), of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, and Donna Pittas (John) of Morganville, NJ. Additionally, she was blessed with 22 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. Mary was a member of St. Helen's Roman Catholic Church, Westfield, NJ where she was active in Sister Pat's Kids Camp. For many summers she attended this sleep away camp for children with cancer. She looked forward to this fun, and rewarding week - making memories with the children and giving their parents respite. Mary worked as a Classroom Assistant for the Westfield Mother's Morning Out and the Westfield School District. She loved being around children and you could always count on her to tell you about a beautiful baby that she saw or a fun encounter that she had with a child! Mary loved to travel, and she had the opportunity to see many states, as well as countries. She was always ready to pack her bags and get in the car, bus, train, plane and/or cruise ship to see the world! Mary was a very friendly and social individual. Her family was always amazed how she would strike up a conversation with total strangers and often became friends with them. Wherever she went she would run into someone she knew or make a new friend. Mary had a very challenging life…. being widowed at the young age of 36 and unfortunately, again at the age of 49. Even with the loss of both of her husbands - you would always hear her say how blessed she was with her children, grandchildren, bonus children, and great-grandchildren and her many friends. Through the years she was able to attend many of their sporting events, recitals, communions, confirmations, graduations, and weddings. Mary was a devoted mother who adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had the ability to make her family and friends feel very special. Mary was a very independent woman who persevered through her life challenges with determination, strength, grace, and her faith. We will miss her dearly. Visiting hour will be on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at St. Helen's Roman Catholic Church, 1600 Rahway Ave. Westfield, NJ 07090 9:45 AM - the family will receive guests; 10:30 AM - Mass All guests are invited to join us for a luncheon immediately following Mary's Celebration of Life.
