Michael D. Smith, 58, of Emmaus, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill. Born in Allentown, Michael was a son of Melvin and Patricia Smith (Schleicher) of Bath. Michael was a 1984 graduate of Northampton High School and 1988 graduate of Bloomsburg University.
Michael worked for Company Voice - Blue Bell, Rodale - Emmaus and Computer Aid - Allentown. He was a familiar face at the Lehigh Valley IronPigs and PPL Center, brightening countless sports events as an usher. His commitment extended to his faith community, where he was a proud member of Salem United Church of Christ in Moorestown.
Throughout his life, Michael found joy in the pleasures of collecting baseball cards, attending concerts to revel in his love for music, and cheering on his beloved North Carolina Tarheels basketball team. A devoted fan of the New York Yankees and a loyal season ticket holder of the Philadelphia Eagles since 1994, Michael's passion for sports illuminated his life.
In addition to his parents; He will be dearly missed by a sister: Sherri Keck and her husband David of Northampton; nephew: Connor Keck of Northampton; cousins and numerous friends.
A Funeral Service will be held at Noon on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Salem United Church of Christ - 2218 Community Dr, Bath, PA 18014. Friends and Relatives are invited to call from 10 AM until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery - Moorestown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to the church Painting Project Fund. Please make checks payable to Salem U.C.C with "Painting Project Fund" in memo.
