Norman Swoyer Obituary

Norman W. Swoyer, III, 83, of The Palmerton Personal Care Home, formerly of E. Penn Twp., Carbon County, and Pennsburg, Montgomery County, PA, died peacefully Friday afternoon, August 22, 2025, at Cedarbrook Nursing Home, S. Whitehall Twp., Lehigh County. He was the husband of the late Phyllis M. (Jordan) Swoyer, who passed in December of 2024. Born in Pottstown, he was a son of the late Norman W., Jr. and Francis K. (Kozakowski) Swoyer. Norman was employed as a truck driver, local, and long distance for various trucking companies over the years. He was an army veteran, serving in Europe, during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was a life member of the Pennsburg Fire Company, and a member of the Red Hill Volunteer Fire Company, and Fire Police. Survivors: Stepdaughter, Karen L. wife of Matthew Kuhn of Lehighton. Daughters, Monica Swoyer-Mohr of E. Greenville, and Stephanie Swoyer of Northampton. Sons, Terry and wife Kim Swoyer, and Keith and wife Amy Knause, all of E. Greenville. 8 grandchildren. Brother, Steven Swoyer, of OK. Nieces and nephews. Faithful cat companion, Mandi. He was predeceased by brothers, Eugene, and Anthony. Services: At the convenience of the family. Norman, you are now relieved from your post. A job well done fellow veteran. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom. The final volley has sounded and taps is about to begin, ending a successful career as a nation“s defender. Farewell fellow veteran.
