Paul Turk Obituary

Paul Turk Sr, 97 of Coplay Pa passed away peacefully at Holy Family Senior Living Bethlehem on May 30 2025. He was the loving husband of Dorothy (Humanick) Turk and passed away two days after celebrating their 76th wedding anniversary on May 28th. Paul was born on May 08, 1928, in Northampton Pa to the late Frank and Rose (Keschl) Turk. After attending Northampton High School Paul served Seaman First Class in the Navy near the end of WWII in the Aleutian Islands. Together, Paul and Dorothy raised eight children in Coplay, working different crafts including Milkman, Bus Driver, and completing a 20-year career at Everson Electric. He and his wife owned and operated the House of Dresses in Coplay for many years. His fondest memories included father and son fishing trips to Canada with family and friends. His title of "Big Bass" will live forever. He loved watching the Phillies, Eagles, Penn State Football and Professional Boxing. He and Dorothy enjoyed casino trips, always hoping for the big one. Most of all, he was a devout catholic and practiced faithfully at St. Peter's in Coplay including a past officer in the Holy Name Society. In addition to Dorothy, Paul is survived by his three daughters, Diane Bauder (Robert), RoseAnn Lewis, and Donna Lewis (Brad) all from Whitehall, and five sons, Dennis (Rebecca) Winston-Salem NC, Paul Jr (Charmaine) Melbourne Fl, Richard (Debbie) Frankford DE, Joseph (Dawn) Middletown DE, and John (Rita) Bethlehem. Paul was blessed to see the addition of 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren into the family over the 76 years of marriage. In addition, he is survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his six siblings and son-in-law Lester Lewis. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Holy Family Senior Living for the dedicated attention to Paul's wellbeing during his stay. His viewing will be held from 9-10:30am, Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at St. Peter's Church, 5 S 4th St., Coplay, PA 18037. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am Wednesday at the church. Interment with military honors to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery in Whitehall. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the church. My heartfelt condolences you you and your families

I will always remember Paul & Dorothy from Sacred Heart.
They were always a welcoming couple to help out and when the polka station was on .. watch out, you may find 2nd shift staff doing the polka in the room! Or Paul out playing shuffleboard.

Helping them to bed with a "I love you, see you tomorrow" will always be a fond memory.

I´m thinking of you and sending love & support.

Please accept our deepest sympathy at the loss of Uncle Paul. We will always have found memories of him and especially the times he was at Mary's house and how he would visit and take her shopping along with Kylie. Kylie would always tell us the story when she was little on how our dog, Sandy, wanted Uncle Paul to give her a treat, but was afraid to take it from him. Heaven gained an angel.

Dear Aunt Dorothy, cousins and families: my sincere sympathies to you all. There are no words that I can express for the empty feeling of losing your husband, dad, grandfather and great grandfather. I know the love of support from your family and friends will come together to celebrate the wonderful life he lived. Truly blessed and in eternity. Sending hugs and prayers. Will see you. Cousin Carol.
